On January 11, 2026, I had the opportunity to film the University of Denver gymnastics team as they faced Stanford in their first meet of the season. The energy in the arena was intense from the very start—fast-paced routines, constant movement, and an atmosphere that never slowed down. Capturing gymnastics is always a challenge, and this meet was no exception, but the chaos and precision of the sport made the experience incredibly rewarding. Every routine, reaction, and celebration added to the story unfolding on the floor.
From this meet, I created a 44-second edit that highlights both the athleticism and emotion of the night, which I later shared on my Instagram. Editing the piece pushed me to make intentional choices in pacing and shot selection to reflect how exciting and unpredictable the meet felt in real time. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to film such a high-level competition and turn it into a concise, impactful visual story. Experiences like this continue to shape my approach to sports filmmaking and motivate me to keep improving my craft.
