On January 12, 2026, I filmed the DU Denver Invitational at Loveland Ski Area, capturing a ski slalom race set against competing schools. Filming on the mountain brought a completely different pace and environment compared to indoor sports—cold temperatures, changing light, and fast-moving athletes navigating tight gates at high speeds. The technical precision of slalom racing made the event especially interesting to document, as every turn and adjustment mattered.
From the footage, I created a 20-second recap that highlighted the speed, intensity, and atmosphere of the day, which I edited and turned around that same night for Instagram. Working on a tight timeline pushed me to trust my instincts and focus on the strongest moments from the race. I’m grateful for the opportunity to film an event like this and continue expanding my experience in outdoor sports filmmaking, especially in environments that demand adaptability and quick decision-making.
